Environmental Authorization (EA)
An EA may include a prescribed process license, an Environmental Permit, a Construction Permit, or an Operating Permit granted by the EPA. Projects that impact the environment, such as construction, industrial activities, or resource extraction, require EA.

Fees
A non-refundable fee of US$50.00 or its equivalent in Guyanese dollars according to the Bank of Guyana Daily Exchange rate is required for the processing of this Application. This fee should be made payable to the Environmental Protection Agency.
A Permit Fee for the Environmental Authorisation is required before the Permit would be issued, based on the potential environmental impacts and the scale of the project (small, medium, large, extra-large). Environmental Authorisation fees range from US$100 to more than US$3,100 per year, which is determined by the EPA after screening.
Typical time
A site visit will be conducted by EPA, usually within two (2) weeks of receipt of application.
For projects not requiring an EIA, a thirty (30) day Public Notice will be published in the newspaper with EPA’s decision to permit you; within one (1) week after this period expires, a permit may be issued..

If not previously submitted — Proof of Land Ownership (Transport, Lease or other Agreement with the land owner or occupier).
TIN Certificate.
If not previously submitted — Land use suitability letter / Outline Planning Permission from the Central Planning & Housing Authority.
If different from the original submitted — Site Plan showing the current layout of the Operation.
If not already submitted — An Environmental Annual Report or Consolidated Environmental Report on progress and compliance with Permit conditions (in accordance with EPA’s Guidelines for the Preparation of Environmental Annual Reports).
If not already submitted and required under your Permit — A Report of hazardous materials or chemicals used or generated by your operation during the reporting period (in accordance with EPA’s Recording and Reporting of Hazardous Waste format).
All other requirements for submission to the EPA as per your Permit Conditions; test results and analysis, reports, etc.
Any other information which the Agency may require under the Environmental Protection Act, 1996, or the Environmental Protection (Authorisation) Regulations, 2000.
Fees
A non-refundable fee based on the scale of the project as stated in the Environmental Protection (Authorisations) (Amendment) Regulations, 2005, is required for the processing of this Application. This fee, which ranges from US$50 – US$125+ , should be in either US Currency or its equivalent according to the Bank of Guyana Daily Exchange Rate and should be made payable to the Environmental Protection Agency.
A Fee for the Environmental Authorisation is required before the Permit would be issued, based on the potential environmental impacts and the scale of the project (small, medium, large, extra-large). Environmental Authorisation fees range from US$100 to more than US$3,000 per year, which is determined by the EPA after screening.
Typical time

A Short-Term Noise Permit authorises the operation of sound-making devices for time-limited activities such as construction, events, entertainment, and commercial operations. Apply to ensure compliance with permitted noise levels and conditions.

Fees
There is a non-refundable processing fee of US$20.00 (or its equivalent in Guyanese dollars) for events not exceeding Three (3) consecutive days. This fee should be made payable to the Environmental Protection Agency at the above address.
Typical time
An Application to use a sound-making device shall be made no later than ten (10) days before the event.
